About the test
How is speaking speed measured?
We count the words in the text and divide by the time from Start and read to Done reading. That gives words per minute.
Why type the same text?
Because the fair comparison is your own voice against your own hands, on the same words. Published typing averages are measured in other ways, so we do not compare you to them.
Does the test record my voice?
No. It never opens the microphone; it is only a timer. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
