Speech to text, free

Press Start and talk the way you talk. Press Stop when you are done, and DanDin writes your words, then cleans them up.

Press Start, then talk

Try saying:

“I have three things before the meeting tomorrow: first, reply to the emails, second, prepare the slides, third, call Ahmed. No wait, I mean call Sara”

You don't have to say it word for word. Say it your way, change things, and watch the magic.

An example, from speech to text

This is the line the Arabic demo suggests. A synthetic voice (macOS Majed) read it, it went through the DanDin engine on 7 October 2026, and this is the output as it came back:

What the engine heard

عندي ثلاث شغلات قبل أليميتن بكرا. أول شي أرد على الإيميلات. ثاني شي أجهز العرض. ثالث شي أكلم أحمد. لا قصدي أكلم سارة.

The text after cleanup

عندي ثلاث شغلات قبل الـ meeting بكرا:

1. أرد على الإيميلات.

2. أجهز العرض.

3. أكلم سارة.

The engine heard the English word "meeting" as Arabic letters, and the cleanup put it back in English. The count became a list, and "no, I mean" dropped Ahmed and kept Sara. The dialect stayed as spoken. This is one example, not an accuracy test.

What happens to your voice

  • No account and nothing to install. Before the first recording we check you are a person, then the mic opens.
  • Your recording goes to our servers, becomes text, and is cleaned up: punctuation goes in, filler words go out, and your own corrections are applied.
  • We do not keep the recording or the text in any log, and we do not use it to train the engine. The text only shows on your page.
  • You do not pick a language. The demo hears English and Arabic together and writes each sentence in its own letters, like the app’s default mode.

What the free demo allows

  • 3 minutes of talking per session, in as many recordings as you like. A session lasts 24 hours.
  • You need a mic and an internet connection.
  • The text shows here on the page. To type straight into your apps, get the app.
  • It listens to your mic only. You cannot upload an audio or video file.

Have an audio or video file?

Many people looking for speech to text already have a recording: a lecture, a voice note or a video. This page will not help with that, because it only hears you while you talk, and so does DanDin. We put real tools that turn a file into Arabic text in a separate guide, each with the free limit its maker states:

Arabic audio to text, free

Want it in every app on your computer?

The demo writes on this page. The DanDin app types into the app you are using: WhatsApp, Word, Gmail and the rest. Hold a key, talk, let go, and your words are typed. It runs on Mac and Windows, and it is free for 2,000 words a week with no card.

Questions about speech to text

Is this speech to text free?

Yes. 3 minutes of talking per session, with no account and no card. When it runs out, get the app: free for 2,000 words a week.

Can I turn an audio file into text here?

No. This page listens to your mic only and takes no files. For a file, read our guide to Arabic audio to text, which lists real tools and their free limits.

Does it work in Arabic and English in one recording?

Yes. Speak both, and each sentence is written in its own letters. An English word inside an Arabic sentence keeps its English letters.

Do you keep my recording?

No. It becomes text on your page, and we do not keep it in a log or use it to train the engine. We only keep the counters: how many seconds you used, and how many sessions were started today, tied to a hashed copy of your IP address.
