Aktoblak works offline, DanDin tidies what you say
A free app that runs only on your PC, against an app that tidies your words over the internet. Each has its place.
In short
If you are on Windows and want free Arabic dictation that works with no internet and no account, Aktoblak fits you better than we do, and we say so plainly. Its page says it is free, runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11, and that after the first model download "your audio never leaves the PC". You press F9 and talk, and the text lands at your cursor. If you want your words tidied before they land, with repeats gone and commas in, or you mix Arabic and English, or you are on a Mac, DanDin fits better. The Aktoblak page says its model turns Arabic speech into text and understands a small set of voice commands; it names no English and no tidy step. DanDin is our product, and it needs the internet. Every Aktoblak fact here comes from its own page, read on 8 October 2026, and we have not used it.

Pick DanDin if
- You want your words tidied, with repeats gone and commas in
- You write English, or mix it with Arabic
- You have a Mac, or work on both a Mac and a PC
Aktoblak may fit you if
- You want free dictation with no limit and no account
- You work offline, or never want your voice to leave your PC
- You want voice commands for a new line, a list and undo
Aktoblak is a good example of a small Arabic app solving a real problem: Windows cannot type Arabic by voice. DanDin solves the same problem another way: it sends your speech to an engine online that tidies it, and writes English too.
Common questions
Is Aktoblak free?
Yes. Its page says version 2.2 is free, with no account and no subscription. The download link comes to your email after you enter it in a form on the page.
Does Aktoblak work on a Mac?
Its page names 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 only, and no Mac. DanDin runs on both Mac and Windows.
Why does DanDin need the internet when Aktoblak does not?
Because Aktoblak runs a small model on your own CPU. DanDin sends your speech to a bigger engine on our servers, then through an AI step that tidies it. Both steps run on our servers, so DanDin needs the internet.
