DanDin for ChatGPT

Write to ChatGPT by voice

A long prompt comes out better spoken. Talk, and DanDin writes it clearly so ChatGPT gets you right the first time.

Yes, you can write your ChatGPT prompts by voice, in its Mac and Windows apps and in the browser. Click in the message box, hold the start key and talk in your own words. When you speak Arabic and DanDin can tell the text is going to an AI tool, it writes a clear instruction in the order you meant: steps one per line, and file names and commands written exactly as you named them. English speech gets the usual cleanup, and the prompt stays in your own words.

How to voice type in ChatGPT

On a Mac

  1. Open the ChatGPT app for Mac, or chatgpt.com in Safari or Chrome.
  2. Click in the typing box at the bottom of the chat.
  3. Hold Fn and explain what you want as if to a colleague: the task, the file, and the result you expect. Then let go.
  4. Read the prompt in the box, then send it yourself.

On Windows

  1. Open the ChatGPT app for Windows, or chatgpt.com in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Put the cursor in the message box.
  3. Hold Ctrl + Win, say your request, then let go.
  4. If your prompt has steps, count them out loud in order (first, second), and each step lands on its own numbered line.

An example in ChatGPT

Asking ChatGPT for an email, in English

You say

I want you to um write an email to my landlord about the leak in the kitchen it has been three weeks actually four weeks and keep it polite but firm

DanDin types

I want you to write an email to my landlord about the leak in the kitchen. It has been four weeks, and keep it polite but firm.

The "um" is gone and only "four weeks" stays after "actually". English speech gets this usual cleanup; the instruction style, steps on their own lines, is for Arabic speech.

Good to know in ChatGPT

  • DanDin writes your prompt and does not send it. The answer comes from ChatGPT itself.
  • For Arabic speech, the instruction style works in the ChatGPT app, and in a browser when the tab title has the word ChatGPT in it. If the tab shows a chat name instead, the prompt is written tidy as usual.
  • When you speak Arabic, a code name you only say out loud, like «قيت يوزر», is written as plain words (get user), never turned into a function name like getUser.
  • ChatGPT voice chat is a different thing: DanDin is for typing, and you read the answer.

Common questions

How do I dictate to ChatGPT in Arabic?

Click in the ChatGPT message box, hold the start key (Fn on a Mac, Ctrl + Win on Windows), say your prompt, and let go. The prompt is typed into the box, and you send it.

ChatGPT has its own mic button. What does DanDin add?

DanDin works with the same key in ChatGPT and in every other app, drops hesitations and repeats, and, when you speak Arabic, writes your request as a clear instruction. English words can sit right inside that Arabic speech.

Does it work with Claude, Gemini and Copilot?

Yes. When you speak Arabic, the same instruction style applies to the Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity apps and to code editors like VS Code and Cursor on a Mac, and to any window or tab whose title names one of them.

Why did my prompt not come out in the instruction style?

The instruction style applies when you speak Arabic, with or without English words in it, and the text is going to an AI tool DanDin recognizes. All-English speech gets the usual cleanup: hesitations go, punctuation goes in, and your wording stays.
