DanDin
DanDin for Cursor

Code by voice in Cursor

Say what you want built, in your own words. DanDin types it into the agent box or the editor, with file names spelled right.

Yes, you can write to Cursor by voice in Arabic, on Mac and Windows. Click in the agent box or anywhere in the editor, hold the start key, talk, and let go: your words are pasted at the cursor. On a Mac, DanDin knows Cursor is a coding tool, so when you speak Arabic it writes your request as a clear instruction: steps one per line, file names and commands spelled exactly. Cursor has its own mic in the chat input, and the table below shows how the two differ.

How to voice type in Cursor

On a Mac

  1. Open Cursor, then open the agent box, or the file you want to write in.
  2. Click in the box, or on the line where the words should start. In the editor, this is handy for comments and README files.
  3. Hold Fn and explain your request: the file, the change, and the result you expect. Then let go.
  4. Check the request in the box, then send it yourself.

On Windows

  1. Open Cursor on Windows, then open the agent box or the file.
  2. Put the cursor where you want the words.
  3. Hold Ctrl + Win, talk, then let go of both keys.
  4. If you want the request in English, turn on Translate to English in Dictation options before you start, and speak Arabic.

An example in Cursor

Asking Cursor’s agent for a feature, with Translate to English on

You say

أبي صفحة تسجيل دخول فيها إيميل وكلمة مرور ولو غلط المستخدم ثلاث مرات قفّل الحساب ربع ساعة

DanDin types

I want a login page with an email and password. If the user enters the wrong credentials three times, lock the account for fifteen minutes.

In Saudi Arabic, the request lands in Cursor in English. Every condition in it is there: the email, the password, and the 15 minute lock after three wrong tries.

Cursor’s mic or DanDin?

Cursor has its own voice input in the chat box. Here is what Cursor’s own pages say about it, next to what DanDin does:

DanDinCursor voice input
Where it worksThe agent box, the editor, the terminal, and every other appThe chat input, from the microphone icon [1]
How you start itFn on a Mac, Ctrl + Win on Windows, in any appThe microphone icon, or hold Ctrl+M [2]
LanguageArabic and English in one sentence, each word in its own lettersDetects the language you speak, or you pick one. The pages we read give no list of languages [3]
SendingNever presses Enter; you sendSpoken submit keywords you set can send the prompt [4]

If you only write to Cursor in the chat box and its transcript is good enough for you, its mic is already there and needs no other app. If you explain in Arabic, want the request to arrive in English, or want the same key in the editor, the terminal and the rest of your apps, DanDin is built for that.

Where these facts come from

Every cell in the second column is taken from that company’s own page. Here is the text as we read it, the link, and the day we read it.

  1. [1] Cursor: Prompting agents, the Voice input section

Click the microphone icon in the chat input to dictate your prompt instead of typing.

  2. [2] Cursor 3.1 changelog (13 April 2026), voice input in the Agents Window

You can press and hold Ctrl+M to speak

  3. [3] Cursor release notes, version 3.19

Dictation in the agent input recognizes the language you speak instead of assuming US English. Auto-Detect is the new default in the voice settings menu shown while recording, and you can still pick a specific language there.

  4. [4] Cursor release notes, version 3.22

Voice submit keywords, the spoken words that send your prompt, now save in Settings and trigger submit in non-Latin scripts like Cyrillic or Chinese.

Good to know in Cursor

  • DanDin writes the text and never edits code itself. Cursor’s agent does the building.
  • For Arabic speech, the instruction style works in Cursor on a Mac. On Windows your words are written tidy as usual, and you can turn on Translate if you want the request in English.
  • A function name you only say out loud is written as plain words, and the agent finds the real one in your project.
  • If Cursor’s own mic is recording, stop it before you use DanDin, so the words are not typed twice.
  • It needs the internet, and there is no build for Windows on ARM.

Common questions

How do I code by voice in Cursor?

Click in the agent box or the editor, hold the start key (Fn on a Mac, Ctrl + Win on Windows), say what you want, and let go. Your request is typed at the cursor, and you send it.

Does Cursor have voice input?

Yes. According to Cursor’s pages (read 19 October 2026), there is a microphone icon in the chat input, you can hold Ctrl+M to speak, and it detects the language you speak. DanDin gives you the same outside the chat box, and writes Arabic and English in one sentence.

Can I speak Arabic and have Cursor get English?

Yes. Turn on Translate to English in Dictation options on the small DanDin pill, speak Arabic, and the request is typed into Cursor in English.

Does it work in VS Code and Windsurf?

Yes. DanDin types into any box that has the cursor. On a Mac, your Arabic speech gets the instruction style in VS Code, Windsurf and JetBrains editors too.
